What is the cuticle?

The cuticle is the clear skin which grows along the bottom edge of your nail. This is different from the nail fold which surrounds the nail with a protective layer. The cuticle can sometimes get in the way when applying polish or giving yourself a manicure. It must be eliminated with an appropriate instrument that won’t harm while giving the desired result.

Soak your nails in warm water for five minutes to soften the cuticles then gently push them back using the cotton-covered wooden stick. The nail fold should never be cut. Only excess, dry skin should be removed.
